Facial Waxing
Prickly chin hairs? Peach fuzz on the upper lip? Untamed eyebrows? They can be a bother for men and women alike, and make you feel self-conscious. The solution? Facial Waxing. It’s an especially popular option because it can be extremely versatile and have great results.
AM I A CANDIDATE?
Facial waxing is considered safe for all skin types. However, clients with particularly sensitive skin, recent sunburns, history of fever blisters, skin tags, or taking certain medications may find that they cannot endure waxing. If waxing isn’t suitable, we can recommend alternative methods to remove the unwanted hair.
WHAT PARTS OF THE FACE DO YOU TREAT?
- Eyebrows
- Upper and lower lips
- Chin
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
- Less painful and irritating than tweezing, shaving, or using depilatories.
- Hair doesn’t regrow for about four to six weeks, depending on the texture.
- The more you wax, the less hair will grow back. The hair that does grow back is usually finer than before waxing.
- Exfoliates the dead skin cells and removes unwanted hair.
- It leaves your skin much softer and smoother.
- Waxing is relatively painless when done by our qualified aesthetician.
- The results are long-lasting.
HOW IS IT PERFORMED?
Our aesthetician gently cleanses your face with a light exfoliant before drying it thoroughly. Once your skin is clean and dry, the warm wax will be administered to the areas that need hair removal.
A thin strip of waxing paper will then be quickly placed on top of the wax and smoothed over it so that the paper is adequately stuck to the wax. The wax is left to cool for a few moments before the paper is tugged off the skin quickly.
After finishing the areas of treatment, the skin will be cleansed again to eliminate any waxy residue, and you’ll be all done!
SHOULD I PREP IN ADVANCE?
What you do before the facial waxing treatment can affect its outcome, so be advised. For optimal results, avoid using skin peels or acid treatments for three to four days prior to waxing.
Moisturize well the night before to soften skin, as soft skin improves results. Cleanse your face as normal the day of your facial wax and avoid exposure to the sun or tanning beds.
You also need to be off any topical medications (retin-a, retinol, etc) for at least 3 – 5 days prior to waxing.
WHAT IS RECOVERY LIKE?
The skin may sting and feel slightly irritated for a few seconds after the wax is removed. Ice packs may be applied for a period. And we use a special product afterwards that cools and soothes the skin. You will notice that your skin feels smooth and silky after the treatment.
