Skin Cancer Treatment and Surgery
There are over one million new cases of skin cancer in the United States each year; over 62,000 of them are melanomas, the most serious skin cancers.
Dr. Morgan is skilled in skin cancer treatment and surgical removal. The training he has completed as a dual board certified Facial Plastic Surgeon and Head and Neck Surgeon makes him uniquely qualified to reconstruct these defects with limited scarring. His treatment for skin cancer and precancerous skin lesions varies, depending on their size, type, depth and location. Many treatments require only a local anesthetic and can be performed in an outpatient setting.
To minimize or avoid scarring, especially on your face, you should know that Dr. Morgan is skilled in reconstructive surgery and scar revisions. For Example, Z-plasty is a surgical technique used to reposition a scar so that it more closely conforms to the natural lines and creases of the skin, where it will be less noticeable. By “hiding” the scars in the natural creases and facial junctions, Dr. Morgan is able to decrease the visibility of these scars.
